So much going on:
There are two events coming up very soon at the Hay Festival, on Thursday a celebration of Lady of Hay’s 40th birthday (the original hardback was published in June 1986) and at the weekend I am going to be a part of Danny Robins late night show ‘Haunted Hay’. I wonder what Matilda, the heroine of Lady of Hay, would think about all this. I hope she’s pleased with her fame. People have read about her in the book all over the world. I am still sent photos occasionally when it has turned up in shops in places from Timbuctu to Alice Springs. By the way, my grateful thanks to The Hay Tourist Information Bureau who are sponsoring my talk.
While I am looking forward to these imminent events ( and several more after the Festival) I have in the background been getting up at dawn to proof read The Valley of Ravens which will be launched at the end of July, make preliminary notes for and even write parts of the next novel after that, title to be announced soon, and as well juggle one or two other projects which are in the pipeline.
Just think! That next novel will be my twentieth. An excuse for another party, perhaps.
And meanwhile, time for a top up cup of coffee ... back soon!
